Mounting instruction Decowall Acoustic Tile
Before you start:
• Get the tools you need to assemble the panels.
TOOLS
• Tape measure
• Pencil
• Caulking gun
• Spirit level
OPTIONAL (if panel to be machined)
• Saw: circular saw, jigsaw or fine-toothed handsaw
• Hobby knife
• Hole drill for recesses
• Stapler
• Multitool
MOUNTING MATERIAL
• Mounting adhesive: high tack MS polymer
OPTIONAL
• Countersunk screws in the colour of the felt, necessary for ceiling mounting
• Masking tape (if sawing is required)
• Make the wall free of dust and grease. Determine the pattern and location of the tiles on the wall. It is important to mix the packs during installation to catch small colour marks and differences.
• Measure the wall and/or ceiling.
• Determine how many Decowall Acoustic Tile panels you need. One pack is enough for 100 x 100 cm.
• Using a pencil, draw a horizontal or vertical line using a spirit level.
Cut panels to size:
• If necessary, the panels can be cut to size in width with a hobby knife.
• If necessary, the panels can be cut to size in height with a saw:
1. Tape off the battens where you want to saw
2. Note where the metal staples are on the back, remove them if necessary
3. Draw a pencil line on the correct size
4. Saw the panel to size
5. Remove the staples if the saw cut falls flush with this
Mounting on the wall:
• Using a caulking gun, dispense the mounting sealant onto the felt back of the panel. Fixing with glue is also possible.
• Fix the panel in the right place against the wall. Press the panel firmly for a few seconds. Attach any subsequent panels in the same way.
Mounting on the ceiling:
• Using a dispensing gun, dose the mounting sealant onto the felt back of the panel.
• Fix the panel in the right place against the ceiling. Press the panel down firmly for a few seconds.
• Screw the panel in place with at least 4 screws per tile. Screw one screw into each corner of the tile.
Finish with end profiles:
• Finish the top and side if necessary using separately available end profiles.
• Cut off the felt on the outside of the tile with a hobby knife. Glue the tile to the wall.
• Cut the finishing profiles to size and glue them to the tiles all around.
